David joined APCIMS in January 2007 after being with the City of London EU office since November 2004 as the first Brussels based head with the remit to help shape the evolution of more effective financial services representation within the EU for both City and other UK firms. He has good contacts throughout the City, FSA, Bank of England, Treasury, DTI and the Cabinet Office, and developed good working relationships between London and the financial centres of Frankfurt and Paris on financial services public policy issues. David has led City policy seminars and events in Brussels which have become and established route for practitioners to meet Brussels opinion formers in the Commission, Council and European Parliament. He has also been a member of the bi-annual Lord Mayor’s pre-Presidency visits to the governments of Luxembourg, Austria, Finland and Germany.

An economist by qualification, David has spent much of the last ten years involved with the financial services industry. His previous employments have included time as a Director of Citigate following their purchase of his company Beaumark Ltd, a public policy consultancy and a Director of Public Affairs at Eurofi. His early career was at the European Commission.
