Stephen Bramall, Former civil servant for the Department for Transport

Stephen is a former civil servant from the Department for Transport where he worked for 15 years from 1974 – 1990.  He advised Ministers on most aspects of transport policy, but concentrated primarily on public transport issues.  He oversaw the passage of four Transport Bills through parliament and for two years was the Principal Private Secretary to two transport ministers – Sir David Mitchell and Michael Portillo.

Stephen left the department in 1990 to join the public affairs industry.  He specialises in transport. After 5 years working for two of the largest public affairs agencies he joined the specialist transport agency, The Waterfront Partnership, as Deputy Managing Director where he worked for nine years.  He is now self employed but advises Politics International on all of its transport clients.
